Favicon
What it means, how it is used and what to know for your project
Understanding the term
A tiny detail with a disproportionate effect: a tab without a favicon displays a generic blank-page icon, immediately making the website look unfinished.
It also appears beside mobile search results, at the very moment someone chooses which result to click.
