Understanding the term
LCP measures how long it takes for the largest visible element to appear, with a target below 2.5 seconds. INP measures the delay between an interaction and the page’s response, with a target below 200 milliseconds. CLS measures layout shifts during loading, with a target below 0.1.
INP replaced FID in March 2024. An audit still discussing FID is working with a metric Google no longer publishes.
