Mobile first
Also known as: mobile-first indexing
Understanding the term
The direct consequence: content present on the wide-screen version but hidden on mobile is, for the search engine, content that does not exist.
The design order matters. Starting with a large screen and shrinking it afterwards always produces a cluttered mobile version; starting with a phone forces you to prioritise.
