Understanding the term
A useful backup meets three criteria, and all three matter. It is automatic. It is stored somewhere other than the website’s server. And someone has already tested a restoration.
A backup kept on the same server as the website is useless when that server fails. And an untested backup is not a backup; it is an assumption.
